Who we are

A Desjardins Group-affiliated NGO, Développement international Desjardins (DID) works to strengthen the economic autonomy of disadvantaged populations living in developing and emerging countries by promoting their financial inclusion and education.

What we do

  • Technical assistance: professionalizing financial institutions and their methodologies, designing and disseminating financial education programs, supporting governments in the adoption of public policies conducive to strengthening the economic autonomy of populations 
  • Impact investment: managing CAD50 million Aequitas Fund to support post-COVID economic recovery and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (namely gender equality and climate action); debt and equity investments to support the performance, growth and good governance of inclusive finance institutions
