Project Objectives
"Enhancing the Green Gold of the Palestinian Economy", a cooperative development project in Palestine led by Oxfam and implemented by the Economic and Social Development Center of Palestine (ESDC) and Al-Reef as the key commercial partner in Palestine, alongside Ekitopi (France) and Truely (Denmark). The project is funded by Danida Green Business Partnerships (DGBP) programme through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
🌿 The project aims to enhance the competitiveness, sustainability and market access of Palestinian olive oil producers and cooperatives in European markets
🤝 Through private sector-led and sustainable solutions, the project supports olive oil cooperatives and mills in improving production efficiency, environmental sustainability, and value chain performance, contributing to stronger livelihoods and increased economic resilience.
🌍 Through partnerships with local and international stakeholders, the project seeks to expand market opportunities for Palestinian organic extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) in Denmark, France, and other European markets, while enhancing the visibility and competitiveness of Palestinian olive oil internationally and promoting fair prices for producers.
🎯 Contributing to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action) by strengthening sustainable olive oil value chains, supporting climate-smart production and processing practices, improving product quality, and expanding market opportunities for Palestinian olive oil cooperatives and mills.
