Summary

Accelerating Growth and Inclusion in Lending for Credit Unions (AGIL4CU) will advance financial cooperatives by improving their capacity to meet the evolving needs of their members, including for secure digital services access, with a focus on increasing MSME lending, targeting women- and youth-led businesses, and climate adaptation financing in Kenya, Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Guatemala. AGIL4CU will 1) improve credit union leaders’ strategic and technical capacity, 2) increase the value of digital, cybersecure services, 3) expand and iterate on streamlined MSME lending processes for economic growth, 4) implement youth and women specific loan products, and 5) expand climate adaptive financing. 

Project Objectives

The AGIL4CU project has three objectives:  

1. To strengthen cooperative capacity through  

a) improved governance, management, and leadership.  

b) improved member services.  

c) improved member equity and increased capitalization.  

2. To improve the enabling environment through increased awareness of cooperative regulatory priorities  

3. To help build the cooperative movement by sharing knowledge and enhancing the development community’s support to cooperatives
