Who we are
Founded in 1957 as a cooperative, HealthPartners is the largest consumer governed nonprofit health care organization in the United States - serving more than 1.5 million medical and dental health plan members nationwide.
What we do
HealthPartners developed a health cooperative model in Uganda and trained health care providers and cooperatives to develop partnerships to sustainably increase access to care and improve health outcomes. HealthPartners trained trainers and Uganda Health Partners Cooperative continues to provide support for cooperative partners seeking affordable solutions for members to access quality care.
In Kenya, HealthPartners works with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Cooperatives, Ministry of Social Protection, Council of Governors, President’s Economic Transformation Secretariat, Social Health Authority and Kenya Union for Savings Cooperative and Credit Organizations to increase community resilience and cooperative business performance and improve the cooperative enabling environment.
