Summary

The Project aims to reduce poverty through the sustainable increase in the economic empowerment of women and youth in the coffee and honey value chains, supporting economic recovery in the context of pandemic, socio-economic shocks and of climate change. 

The Project also foresees the creation of a social enterprise bringing together the cooperatives of the targeted value chains, a private investor and Socodevi to process and export coffee and honey on international markets.

In addition, the Project will contribute to improving the capacities of the associative enterprises to offer high quality products and services, adapted to the gender-specific needs of their members, for a more efficient and profitable processing of coffee and honey, and to implement i a sales and marketing strategy to increase national and international sales.

Main Indicators

1) Percentage of households with supported young women, older women and young men who have profitable economic activities that are resilient to climate change. 2) Percentage of households in which older women and young women participate in household economic decisions. 3) Number of associative enterprises that offer new products and diversified services to improve the productivity and profitability of the productive activities of women and young people. 4) Percentage of older women, young women and young men in the decision-making bodies of the associative companies and the social company. 5) Percentage increase in business volume and operating surplus of associative enterprises.
