Americas: Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru

Type of Activity
The project has been implementing activities to strengthen governance, such as the implementation of a school for leaders and the review of leadership succession workshops. In terms of gender, the project has promoted the creation of gender policies, supported the gender approach in the development of salary policies, and reviewed inclusion policies. In addition, we have been carrying out diagnoses to address sexual harassment in the workplace. In productivity, we are supporting field schools, productive diversification, food security through training, research and generation of strategies to address it in cooperatives. In the area of quality, measures are being implemented in the field to improve the quality of partial and final products in the value chains. Support has also been provided for tasting training.
Equal Exchange will support agricultural cooperatives to strengthen their businesses by fostering a culture of innovative problem-solving, improving their capacity to provide valuable services to members and their communities, and thus work toward building a healthier, more sustainable cooperative ecosystem for all.
