Summary

The AAFIMES project promotes inclusive and sustainable access to financing for small businesses and producer organizations active in critical value chains. These range from grains and market gardening to aquaculture, oyster farming, food processing and non-timber forest products.

AAFIMES makes it easier for entrepreneurs, particularly young people and women, to access credit and equipment through a mechanism of grants.

To facilitate access to financing, Desjardins International Development (DID) also helps the selected financial institutions design relevant financial solutions adapted to these entrepreneurs, who are often excluded from traditional financing systems. This allows small business owners to connect with existing guarantee funds and helps them modernize their services through digitalization.
