Project Objectives

The objective of the project is to establish collaborative efforts with like-minded civil society organisations to advance the rights and interests of women workers in the informal economy in the Philippines. PATAMABA has been focusing on advocacy and economic empowerment. PATAMABA has been lobbying to pass the Magna Carta for Workers in the Informal Economy (MACWIE) to protect the rights of the informal sector. With regard to economic empowerment, PATAMABA has been working towards the establishment of Trade Facilitation Center which aims to consolidate and organize marketing of products of their home-based women workers. The project is strengthening 24 local chapters in the provinces of Bataan, Zambales, and Pangasinan in setting up social protection mechanisms in their localities.
