Project Objectives

This project hopes to institutionalize women empowerment and gender equality in Philippine cooperatives and to support We Effect Project Partners in promoting gender equality among the member-based organizations. The project is working with lead government institution in charge of regulating cooperatives in the Philippines – the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). The project is enhancing the capacity of CDA – providing training and technical assistance to management and cooperative development workers – to ensure that cooperatives are mainstreaming gender and development in their plans, policies, programs, and services.
