Promoting Enabling Environment for Cooperative Development

National Cooperative Council of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) is the implementing partner of the project. Under this project, NCCSL being an apex organisation leads a process of development of a gender policy and integration of good governance into the legal structures. The project will also facilitate to improve the organisational capacities of ten selected District Cooperative Councils as well as three apex level cooperatives. It is expected to have long-term results as favourable policy changes to promote women leadership at BOD level having equal opportunities in decision-making process, establish and promote good governance at provincial and national level in cooperation with the policies and sustainable cooperative business development. the project is expected to benefit 2,835 women and 1,350 men cooperative members from the targeted cooperatives.
