Summary

The project will be implemented by local partner Healthy Lanka, targeting the district level NGO consortiums which have been established by the government in each local government administrative locations and represent most of the CSO, CBO, NGO and INGO that implement activities in the particular districts. The project will target 10 district level consortiums and gender sub-committees in them. Women empowerment & leadership, reduce gender-based violence and gender equality are the main focus areas. The project is expected to have effectively functioning 10 District Consortiums of Civil Society organisations and ensure women empowerment and gender justice in their member organisations at the end of the five years of the project. And also, it aims to establish gender focal points at district level, at least 200 civil society organisations link with the district consortium from targeted locations and make duty-bearers accountable for their roles and responsibilities.

Project Objectives

The project helps to achieve organised and empowered women in 10 Districts with improved well-being through gender justice and reduced gender-based violence.
